President Donald Trump announced on Friday evening that Duke Buchan III will serve as the United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco.
“I am pleased to announce that Duke Buchan III will serve as the United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Duke will play a pivotal role in advancing peace, freedom, and prosperity for the benefit of our two countries. Congratulations to Duke and his wonderful family!”
Buchan, 61, previously served as the US Ambassador to Spain and Andorra during Trump’s first administration from 2017 to 2021. He currently serves as the financial director of the Republican National Committee.
Born in North Carolina in 1963, Buchan holds an economics degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University. The businessman is married with three children.
